Fiserv Property Update: Retirement Community Proposed
The former Fiserv property, located on East Jones Bridge Road has been purchased and a local developer has filed plans with the city to build a residential retirement community.
The 115-acre tract is located on the north side of East Jones Bridge Road between Riverfield Drive and Sunburst Drive and fronts the Chattahoochee River to the north. The community would be for persons 55 years of age and older and would offer on-site health care services with greater levels of care over time which would provide residents the ability to age in place.
The Planning Commission and city staff have recommended the plans with conditions. A public hearing will be held on May 22, 2018 during the monthly city council meeting. Residents are encouraged to attend and provide their comments during the public comment hearing.
If approved, the development would include a mixture of housing options, for independent living, assisted living, memory care and 24-hour nursing care. The developer is proposing a maximum of 916 residential units of varying types through the re-use of some of the existing buildings and new construction of others. The developer is requesting a variance to allow for up to 7-story new construction.
The primary one-way entrance and exit roadways will remain in its current configuration along with some new, internal roadways. In addition, new recreational walking trails are proposed to be added to the property along with three small parks.
The City Council meetings are held at City Hall the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The Peachtree Corners City Hall is located at 310 Technology Parkway, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092.
