Shelter-in-Place Expires, Public Health Emergency Extended
April 30, 2020 – Tonight at 11:59 p.m. the Georgia's shelter in place order that was put in place in early April will expire, however Gov. Kemp said the elderly and medically fragile are to continue sheltering in place until June 12.
Though the shelter-in-place ends tonight, Gov. Kemp urged everyone to continue to stay home whenever possible.
He also renewed the Public Health State of Emergency for 30 days. The declaration assists health and emergency management officials by deploying all available resources for the mitigation and treatment of COVID-19 including enhanced testing.
