Captain Henry Mesa began his work in Law Enforcement in 2016 as a Patrol Officer with the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Within eight months of service, Captain Mesa was developing major drug/gang cases and was asked to join the Gwinnett County Police Department – Gang Unit. Captain Mesa served with the Gang Unit for over three years and was requested to join the Gwinnett County Police Department Crime Prevention Unit – West Precinct.
During his stent with the Crime Prevention Unit, Captain Mesa obtained various Crime Prevention training including Basic and Advanced CEPTED and Crime Prevention Residential/Commercial Applications. Captain Mesa remained with the Crime Prevention Unit for over two years and was tasked to the Criminal Investigation Division – General Unit.
While with the Criminal Investigation Division – General Unit, Captain Mesa worked as a Detective and worked on major Felony cases encompassing both personal and property crimes. Captain Mesa served as a Detective for over a year and was then assigned to take over the Community Resource Officer position at the Gwinnett County Police Department – West Precinct.
In this position, Captain Mesa recorded the statistics of the precinct, developed crime trends and community issues, and designed operation plans to combat crime trends or community issues. Captain Mesa obtained his Field Training Officer certification and was given the ability to train up-and-coming rookie police officers.
Captain Mesa served in this position for over a year.
In July of 2023, Captain Mesa accepted the position as a City Marshal with the newly formed City of Peachtree Corners Marshal’s Office.
