Diana Wheeler is Peachtree Corners’ Community Development Director and has the distinction of being the City’s first employee. Ms. Wheeler has thirty years of experience as a Community Development Director in progressive, quality communities including Alpharetta, Georgia, Coral Gables, Florida, and South Miami, Florida.
She served on the Georgia Planning Association’s Board of Directors and also as president of the Florida Planning and Zoning Association. Ms. Wheeler served as the Chairman of the North Fulton Center for the Arts and was a member of the Encore Park for the Arts’ Board of Directors. In addition, she served as Coordinator of the Sister Cities program between Alpharetta, Georgia and Piatra Niamti, Romania and she served as Chairman of the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors’ Bureau.
Ms. Wheeler has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year award and the Georgia Planning Association’s Outstanding Leadership Award. Ms. Wheeler’s work has been featured in a variety of publications including USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlanta Business Chronicle, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, and Planning Magazine.
Ms. Wheeler holds a management certificate from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University in New York.
