5. Overview

   Thank you for your interest in serving on a volunteer board, commission, or authority. The purpose of this form is to provide the Mayor and City Council members with some information about residents considered for appointment.

   To apply, please complete the application below. If there are no vacancies, the City will keep your application on file until we have an opening. These volunteer groups are appointed by the City Council and are staffed by City employees.

   To serve, you must be a current resident of the City of Peachtree Corners.

7. Boards and Commissions

   Downtown Development Authority (DDA)
   Duties and responsibilities include revitalizing and redeveloping the central business district of the city. This nonprofit public body meets quarterly and meetings are open to the public.

   Planning Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals
   Duties and responsibilities include reviewing rezoning requests, special use permit requests, and amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and making recommendations to the City Council. Also includes reviewing and issuing rulings related to variance requests and appeals of administrative decisions.

   Redevelopment Authority
   The Redevelopment Authority can plan, administer, and implement redevelopment and community improvement projects and provide assistance in identifying and obtaining public funding for industrial, commercial, or residential improvements or expansion projects..
